What's a token?
A token is the unit the work is counted in. Roughly speaking, a token is about three quarters of a word, so a page of text is somewhere around 500 to 800 tokens. A drawing, a spec, or a scanned page is counted the same way once BrixIQ reads it.
- Reading is input
- Everything you hand BrixIQ, plus the context it needs to make sense of it: the drawing, the spec, the notes on the job, the history it pulls in.
- Answering is output
- What BrixIQ writes back: the extracted dimensions, the quote lines, the summary, the document it drafts.
- Output costs more than input
- Reading is cheap, writing is not. That is why the two are priced separately on every mode, rather than as one blended number.
- You are not charged per seat or per quote
- Tokens meter what the work actually took. A one-page RFQ and a fifty-page assembly package do not cost the same, and you are not paying a flat fee that assumes the worst case.
Token counts vary by document, so the exact number for a given job is the one on the meter in-product, not an estimate. Always refer to your agreement for how these rates apply to your account.
